School for Teaching and Research of Ideological and Political Theories

Founded in November, 2009, the School for Teaching and Research of Ideological and Political Theories (TRIPT), XAUAT, offers all the courses concerning ideological and political theory for undergraduate and graduate students. TRIPT is responsible for the management of the related faculty, disciplinary construction, scientific research, teacher development, talent echelon construction concerning the teaching and research of Marxist theory, and providing the related social services in the field of ideological and political theory. It serves not only as a school for the teaching of ideological and political theories and a research unit of Marxism theory, but also as a supporting institution for the discipline center in Marxist theory. In recent years, with its unique discipline strength, TRIPT has become an important school in both researching and teaching ideological and political theory at XAUAT.

TRIPT consists of five teaching and research sections: ideological and political theory, philosophy, history, economics, and philosophy in science and technology.

In TRIPT, under the two first-level disciplines of Marxist Theory and Philosophy, Master's degrees in Law and Philosophy are offered. Also established in TRIPT are the Research Institute of Political and Social Development and the Research Institute of Ecological Economy and Culture.

There are more than 40 faculty members totally, among whom 10 are professors, and 15 associate professors, delivering classes to over 120 master candidates in TRIPT. Its 120-m2 reference room holds over 30,000 volumes of books, 270-plus periodicals, about 20,000 back issues, and 200-plus sets of electronic image data.
