XAUAT has nurtured and attracted large numbers of outstanding experts and scholars. In recent years, the University follows the policy of "enlisting as well as cultivating talented people". In order to have a high-leveled teaching staff, XAUAT has brought in distinguished professionals both at home and abroad. XAUAT has a total number of over 2,100 teachers and faculty members. Over 700 teachers and research staff have senior or vice-senior titles among which one is a member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering.

　　To accelerate the development of the young teachers, measures have been taken by the university to upgrade the faculty structure and to improve the teaching quality. These measures include the establishment of the "Award for New Academics ", the "Award for Excellent Young Teachers".
