The Library of XAUAT is made up of two parts: the one on the main campus and the other on the east campus. There is a floor space of 18,000 square meters and they provide 2,400 seats for patrons. The libraries hold a rich collection of books amounting to 2,100,000 volumes and journals amounting to 5,633 kinds, which cover a broad range of subjects including humanities, social sciences and management. There are especially a lot of materials of civil engineering, architecture and natural sciences. Great attentions have been paid to the collection of books and periodicals in foreign languages. Besides, the Library also maintains some special documents and Audio-visual Materials. In recent years, they emphasize electronic resources and virtual resources, too. Now, over 50,000 electronic books have been made available in the Library or online.

　　The automation system was installed in the Library in 1996. The library network has been created to provide students and faculty with literature and information searching services both via the campus network and on line. Under the system, users can have access to the library's collection and librarians can work on acquisitions, cataloging, series management and circulation.
