State Key Laboratory of Green Building

The State Key Laboratory of Green Building, which is authorized by the Ministry of Science and Technology of China, is jointly established by Xi'an University of Architecture and Technology and China Construction Technology Group Co., Ltd. Committed to developing new green building models, technologies, and products suited to diverse natural and social conditions, the lab focuses on climate adaptation, localization, tradition inheritance, and green development. It explores ways to cut carbon emissions and reduce resource consumption, supporting the construction industry's carbon - neutrality goals and healthy habitats.

The lab has built a distinctive, well-structured research team. Honored as a top collective in China's education system, it boasts several academic pillars in national talent programs. These backbones have led major national research projects, like National Natural Science Foundation and National Key R & D Plan projects. The laboratory has established unique advantages in a range of critical fields. These include the innovative research and theoretical underpinnings of green building models, the theory of building climate adaptability, and fundamental design parameters. It also focuses on the utilization of solar photovoltaic and thermal energy for buildings on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. Additionally, it delves into environment control and emission reduction strategies for industrial buildings with high pollution emissions. Its work extends to the development and application of key construction technologies in extreme environments, such as Polar regions, the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, and oceanic islands. Lastly, it addresses building industrialization and green construction practices.
