I. Basic Requirements

1.Applicants shall support the Constitution and laws of the People’s Republic of China, uphold the leadership of the Communist Party of China and the socialist system, possess good moral character, and abide by laws and regulations.

2.Applicants shall hold a doctoral degree awarded by an overseas or domestic university or research institution.

3.Applicants shall meet the requirements of the recruitment position, be capable of undertaking teaching and research work related to the relevant discipline, and demonstrate strong academic competence and promising development potential.

4.Applicants shall be in good physical and mental health, with the physical condition and psychological qualities required for the position.

5.In principle, applicants who are recent graduates shall be no older than 32 years of age (born on or after January 1, 1994). Applicants with postdoctoral experience or with an associate senior professional title shall generally be no older than 35 years of age (born on or after January 1, 1991). Applicants holding a senior professional title or with particularly outstanding achievements may have the age limit relaxed to 45 years of age (born on or after January 1, 1981).

6.Applicants applying for national-level talent programs, such as the Overseas Outstanding Young Scholars Program, through Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology shall also satisfy all additional requirements specified by the relevant programs.

II. Recruitment Categories and Benefits

(I) Overseas High-Level Talents

Recruitment Categories

Distinguished overseas scholars, including tenured professors from internationally renowned universities, recipients of internationally recognized awards, internationally leading scholars in their disciplines, and candidates applying through Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology for national-level major talent programs such as the Chair Professor Program and the Overseas Outstanding Young Scholars Program.

Benefits and Support

1.Appointment

Formal establishment positions will be provided, with appointment as Professor and doctoral supervisor.

2.Compensation

Competitive annual salary packages will be offered.

3.Housing and Relocation Support

The University provides generous settling-in allowances and housing purchase subsidies, as well as talent apartments in accordance with University policies.

4.Research Funding

Sufficient research funding will be provided in accordance with University policies. Exceptional candidates may receive customized support on a case-by-case basis.

5.Academic Environment

The University provides high-quality research platforms, office facilities, and laboratory space, guarantees graduate student and postdoctoral recruitment quotas, and supports the establishment of young academic teams.

6.Family Support

Children may access top-tier affiliated secondary schools, primary schools, and kindergartens in Xi’an. Assistance will also be provided in seeking employment opportunities for spouses.

7.Talent Services

Eligible candidates will be assisted in applying for the “Sanqin Talent Card” of Shaanxi Province, which provides convenient services and green channels in areas including transportation, household registration, education, healthcare, housing, residence permits, customs, foreign affairs, innovation and entrepreneurship, tourism, banking, and insurance.

Special Note

Candidates who enter the final review stage of the Overseas Outstanding Young Scholars Program but are not ultimately selected may, upon evaluation under the University’s talent recruitment policies, be appointed as Tenure-Track Professor, Tenured Associate Professor, or Tenure-Track Associate Professor, and included in the University’s “Outstanding Young Scholars Support Program.”

In addition, the University will assist candidates in applying for talent programs sponsored by Shaanxi Province. Successful applicants may receive tax-exempt living subsidies (treated as government awards) and research funding support in accordance with relevant provincial policies.

(II) Domestic High-Level Talents

1. Chair Professor

Requirements:

Academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering or the Chinese Academy of Sciences, as well as strategic scientists from China and abroad who have made systematic, creative, and significant contributions in their research fields.

2. Leading Professor

Requirements:

Applicants shall hold the rank of Professor and possess the ability to build research teams capable of achieving outstanding results in response to major national strategic needs and frontier interdisciplinary fields. Candidates should be nationally recognized leading talents or recipients of second prize or above in China’s National Science and Technology Awards.

3. Outstanding Professor

Requirements:

Applicants shall hold the rank of Professor and possess the ability to organize research teams addressing national economic and industrial development needs, with recognized achievements in national science and technology awards, national talent programs, or major national scientific research and engineering projects.

4. Foundation Professor

Requirements:

Applicants shall hold the rank of Professor and demonstrate the ability to lead teams making significant contributions to regional and industrial development. Candidates should have achieved notable accomplishments in provincial science and technology awards, cultivation of outstanding young talents, or national-level scientific research and engineering projects.

5. Tenured Associate Professor

Requirements:

Applicants shall hold at least the rank of Associate Professor and have achieved strong academic accomplishments in their research fields, with demonstrated innovative potential and social influence, including provincial-level young experts or young talent awardees.

6. Tenure-Track Professor

Requirements:

Applicants shall hold at least the rank of Associate Professor and possess strong academic achievements in key national research fields, with demonstrated innovative potential and significant social influence, including national young experts, national young talent awardees, or regional leading talents.

Outstanding doctoral graduates and postdoctoral researchers from universities and research institutions in China and abroad, including candidates for the positions of Tenure-Track Associate Professor, Assistant Professor, and Faculty Postdoctoral Researcher.

5.Access for children to top-tier affiliated secondary schools, primary schools, and kindergartens in Xi’an;

III. Application Procedures

(I) Application Submission

Applicants are requested to send their CVs to and indicate the name of the School/College they are applying to in the email subject line (applicants may apply to only one School/College). Candidates applying for programs such as the Overseas Outstanding Young Scholars Program through Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology should specify this separately in the email. All application materials must be authentic, accurate, and complete.

(II) Qualification Review

The University will conduct a preliminary qualification review based on the application requirements, position criteria, faculty development needs, and relevant University regulations. Applications that pass the preliminary review will be forwarded to the corresponding School/College for further evaluation. Applicants who do not pass the review will not receive separate notification.

(III) Comprehensive Evaluation

The relevant School/College will conduct a comprehensive assessment of applicants’ political integrity, professional ethics, psychological qualities, teaching and research capabilities, and academic development potential. A preliminary hiring recommendation will then be submitted to the University for review and approval.

(IV) Medical Examination and Background Review

Candidates approved by the University will be required to undergo a medical examination. The University will also further evaluate candidates’ political standing, moral conduct, law-abiding record, and personal credit history.

(V) Public Notification and Contract Signing

Candidates who pass the medical examination and background review will be publicly announced on the website of the Human Resources Office for five working days. If no objections are raised, or if the reported issues do not affect employment eligibility, candidates shall sign the employment agreement within one month.

(VI) Registration Procedures

Candidates who sign the employment agreement shall arrange for the transfer of their personnel files to the University and report to the Human Resources Office with the required materials to sign the formal employment contract and completeregistrationprocedures.
