On September 12, 2026, Xi'an University of Architecture and Technology (XAUAT) will celebrate the 130th anniversary of itsacademic heritage and the 70th anniversary of its merger. Since the release of Announcement No. 1, we have received widespread attention and tremendous support from our global alumni, people from all sectors of society, and all faculty, students, and staff. Preparations for the celebration are in full swing and progressing in an orderly manner. We would like to extend our sincere gratitude and highest respect to you all!
As we mark the 130-day countdown to this grand event, we hereby announce the theme, logo, and contact information for the anniversary celebration:
I. Anniversary Theme
“A Legacy of 130 Years, Setting Sail for 70.”
“A Legacy of 130 Years” signifies the spiritual continuity of our academic heritage since 1895. Beginning with the original aspiration of revitalizing the nation through industry, the tradition of “Academic Excellence for National Service”has been passed down through generations of XAUAT members. Spanning three centuries, this legacy embodies the untainted patriotism of a struggling nation, the fortitude required for pioneering endeavors, and the sense of duty inherent in the “Spirit of the Western Migration.” It stands as a testament to the mission of XAUAT to always resonate with the pulse of national development.
“Setting Sail for 70” heralds a new voyage for the merged university. Since themerger of four institutions in 1956, XUAT pioneered architectural higher education in Northwest China. Over these seven decades of weathering storms and pressing forward, we have become a powerhouse for cultivating talent serving national economic and social development. Today, standing at the new starting line of the 15th Five-Year Plan, the university embraces the tide of the new era. With the ambition of a “Fourth Entrepreneurship,”we drive transformative leaps, integrate into the construction of a strong nation and the global landscape through higher-level openness, and translate our commitment to national strategy into tangible action, taking solid strides toward becoming a first-class institution.
The convergence of “130” and “70”forms both a historical milestone and a spiritual coordinate. Remaining true to our original mission, we take cultural inheritance as our root, disciplinary advancement as our oars, and open education as our sails, striving toward our goal of becoming a “Distinctive, Internationally Renowned, High-Level Research University.”
II. Anniversary Logo
The logo captures the soul of time through the form of architecture. The Main Teaching Building, which shares the same age as the university, witnessed the arduous founding during the merger of the fourinstitutions and the tireless pursuit of generations of teachers and students beneath its portico. Its silhouette has become a spiritual totem for XUAT members across time and space.
The 130th/70th Anniversary Logo centers on an angular perspective of the main building’s portico, ingeniously blending the solid lines of the colonnade with the numerals “130” and “70.”The “130” transforms into the skyline extending from the corridor, symbolizing the enduring legacy of 130 years of education; the “70” is embedded within the upright structure of the colonnade, signifying the solid foundation of the 70 years since the merger. The gilded texture pays homage to the golden years, highlights our glorious achievements, and reflects the profound confidence of XUAT members in inheriting history and creating the future.
