XAUAT Establishes Overseas High-Quality Student Recruitment Bases with Four Kyrgyz Institutions

XAUAT News Network — On the afternoon of June 13, Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology (XAUAT) hosted a signing ceremony for cooperation agreements and a plaque-awarding ceremony for Overseas High-Quality Student Recruitment Bases with a delegation from Kyrgyzstan at the Ziqiang Conference Room of the Yicheng Innovation Center. Vice President Lei Peng attended the event and delivered remarks.

Representatives from Kyrgyz State University named after I. Arabaev, the Moldokulov National Innovative School–Lyceum, Bishkek Secondary School No. 16, Bishkek Secondary School No. 87, Vocational School No. 94, the Aliyev Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, and the “Bakdoolot” Public Foundation participated in the event. Representatives from XAUAT’s Office of International Affairs, School of International Education, and international student community also attended. The ceremony was chaired by Duan Zhongxing, Executive Vice Dean of the School of International Education.

On behalf of the University, Lei Peng extended a warm welcome to the delegation. He noted that under the guidance of the China–Kyrgyzstan Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for a New Era, educational cooperation has become one of the most dynamic and people-centered aspects of bilateral relations. Lei briefly introduced XAUAT’s history, disciplinary strengths, and achievements in internationalization. He highlighted the establishment of the Osh International School of Architecture in Kyrgyzstan, which has become a landmark project demonstrating the deep integration of higher education between the two countries.

Lei Peng emphasized that the signing of cooperation agreements and the establishment of Overseas High-Quality Student Recruitment Bases with multiple Kyrgyz institutions mark a new stage of cooperation characterized by coordinated engagement across different educational levels and sustained institutional collaboration. He expressed his hope that, through the platform of the OshTU International School of Architecture, more Kyrgyz students would have opportunities to study and engage in academic exchange in China, contributing jointly to educational development along the Silk Road.

Speaking on behalf of the participating universities, Toloyev Maksatbek, Vice Rector of Kyrgyz State University named after I. Arabaev, introduced the university and highly praised XAUAT’s achievements in architecture, engineering and international student education. He expressed his expectation that the two universities would further strengthen cooperation in faculty and student exchanges, joint training programs and other areas.

Representing the participating secondary schools, Tabaldiyeva Nurmira, Vice Principal of the Moldokulov National Innovative School–Lyceum, noted that her school is one of Kyrgyzstan’s leading innovative secondary schools. She mentioned that one of its graduates, Miyue, is currently studying at XAUAT, and that this alumni connection has added warmth and a strong foundation to the partnership. She expressed her sincere hope that the two sides would deepen exchanges and continue to encourage more outstanding young students to pursue further studies at XAUAT.

Miyue, a Kyrgyz student representative at XAUAT, shared her personal experiences and reflections on studying at the University. She expressed gratitude for the University’s high-quality educational resources and welcoming campus environment, and pledged to work diligently in her studies while serving as a promoter and inheritor of the friendship between China and Kyrgyzstan.

Witnessed by all participants, Lei Peng and Toloyev Maksatbek signed a Memorandum of Understanding on behalf of their respective institutions. Wang Chunmei, Director of the Office of International Affairs and Dean of the School of International Education, subsequently signed cooperation agreements with representatives of the Moldokulov National Innovative School–Lyceum, Bishkek Secondary School No. 16, and Bishkek Secondary School No. 87. Lei Peng then presented plaques designating the four institutions as “Overseas High-Quality Student Recruitment Bases of Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology.”

Looking ahead, XAUAT will fully leverage the role of these overseas recruitment bases to further streamline international student selection and recruitment channels, deepen joint talent cultivation initiatives, accelerate the development of the OshTU International School of Architecture, and enhance the influence and competitiveness of the “Study at XAUAT” brand.
