XAUAT News Network— On July 5, XAUAT held the Opening Ceremony of the "United by the Silk Road, Building Dreams for China and Kyrgyzstan" Exchange Camp for the inaugural cohort of students admitted to the XAUAT–OshTU International School of Architecture, together with an Admission Letter Presentation Ceremony, in the Ziqiang Conference Room of the Yicheng Innovation Center. The event was attended by Duan Zhongxing, Executive Vice Dean of the School of International Education; Ye Fei, Vice Dean of the School of Architecture; Men Jinjie, Vice Dean of the School of Civil Engineering; Associate Professor Elmira Rysbekova and Senior Lecturer Ergeshov Emilbek of the School of Architecture and Construction, Osh Technological University; and representatives of the inaugural cohort of students admitted to the XAUAT–OshTU International School of Architecture. The ceremony was chaired by Zhao Jingzhu, Vice Dean of the School of International Education.
In his remarks, Duan Zhongxing extended a warm welcome to the faculty representatives from Osh Technological University and the first cohort of students from the XAUAT–OshTU International School of Architecture. He reviewed the history of cooperation between the two universities and highlighted XAUAT's achievements in advancing international education in recent years.
Duan noted that the XAUAT–OshTU International School of Architecture is a landmark achievement in deepening educational cooperation between China and Kyrgyzstan and promoting the China–Central Asia Spirit. The visit of the inaugural student cohort represents not only another fruitful outcome of the practical cooperation between the two institutions but also a vivid demonstration of the progress made in the development of the joint school. He encouraged the students to cherish this valuable opportunity, broaden their horizons through academic study and cultural exchange, and become ambassadors of friendship promoting mutual understanding between the peoples of China and Kyrgyzstan.
Rysbekova Elmira stated that the rich cultural heritage and historical traditions shared by the two countries provide an important foundation for cooperation and academic research between the two universities. She emphasized that the successful launch of the exchange camp reflects the deep friendship between the two institutions and marks an important milestone in the development of the XAUAT–OshTU International School of Architecture. She expressed the hope that both universities would capitalize on their respective disciplinary strengths and regional characteristics to explore innovative approaches to cultivating internationally minded professionals and jointly contribute to the future development of the joint school and both institutions.
Ye Fei and Men Jinjie introduced their respective schools, covering academic programs, curriculum design, faculty development, and achievements in international talent cultivation. Staff members from the School of International Education also briefed participants on the schedule of the exchange camp and highlighted safety precautions and disciplinary requirements during the students' stay in China.
A Kyrgyz student currently studying at XAUAT shared personal experiences of studying and living in China, offering advice on adapting to campus life and integrating into Chinese culture. Representatives of the first cohort of students from the XAUAT–OshTU International School of Architecture expressed their enthusiasm for studying in China and their willingness to contribute to strengthening the friendship and partnership between the two universities.
During the ceremony, Duan Zhongxing presented admission letters to representatives of the first cohort of students from the XAUAT–OshTU International School of Architecture.
The ten-day exchange camp includes Chinese language courses, professional academic classes, thematic lectures, and Chinese cultural experiences. It is designed to help students gain a comprehensive understanding of XAUAT's academic strengths, curriculum, and campus culture, laying a solid foundation for their future studies in China. The successful launch of the exchange camp marks an important step in the integrated enrollment and talent cultivation process of the XAUAT–OshTU International School of Architecture and signifies the joint school's transition into a new stage of substantive development. It also lays a solid foundation for XAUAT to further deepen educational cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative and expand its international influence.
