XAUAT News Network - On the afternoon of September 12, Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology (XAUAT) hosted the Global University Presidents' Forum on Sustainable Development for Humanity through Architecture and Technology. Forty representatives from universities and institutions across 16 countries and regions were invited to attend the event. The forum was chaired by Wang Chunmei, Director of the Office of International Affairs and Director of the Office of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs.

At the forum, XAUAT Vice President Chen Rong delivered a keynote speech entitled From Chang'an to the World: A 130-Year-Old University's Responsibility and Perspectives. He said that XAUAT is committed to working with partners around the world to deepen joint research in areas including green building standards, low-carbon construction technologies, smart city governance, and cultural heritage conservation, and to jointly develop open and inclusive platforms for international collaborative innovation.
Chen Rong also called for making full use of the Silk Road International Alliance of Architectural and Technological Universities to share educational resources, facilitate exchanges of visiting scholars, and jointly train postgraduate students. By enabling academic knowledge to transcend borders and innovation to benefit people around the world, universities can work together to turn the vision of “building a better home for humanity” into reality.

Eighteen senior representatives from universities and institutions, including the Permanent Delegation of Tajikistan to UNESCO, the Australia Institute of Future Education, National University of Sciences and Technology of Pakistan, An-Najah National University of Palestine, Moscow State University of Civil Engineering, Belgorod State Technological University, École Supérieure d’Art de Paris, Hanyang University, National University of Mongolia, Osh Technological University, Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, University of Moratuwa, Chulalongkorn University, Tashkent University of Architecture and Civil Engineering, Termez State University of Engineering and Agrotechnologies, Universitat Politècnica de València, Hanoi University of Civil Engineering, and the University of Macau, delivered remarks in turn. They shared their perspectives, exchanged experiences, and put forward proposals on such topics as leveraging higher education to advance innovation in building technologies and contribute to global sustainable development.
During the anniversary celebrations, the participating representatives also held more than 10 exchange sessions with leading research teams from the College of Architecture, School of Civil Engineering, College of Art, School of Urban Development and Modern Transportation, the State Key Laboratory of Green Building, the Institute for Interdisciplinary Innovation, and other XAUAT schools and research institutions. The exchanges resulted in a number of shared understandings and agreements on research collaboration, academic exchanges, and joint platform development.
