The School of Marxism, Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology traces its origins to the Department of Marxism-Leninism established during the early years following the university’s merger.In 2009, the Institute of Ideological and Political Theory Education was foundedand in 2016 it was renamed the School of Marxism.In 2022, it wasselectdas a Key School of Marxism in Shaanxi Province.
The school currently has two master's degree programs inthefirst-leveldiscplines ofMarxist Theory and Philosophy,one provincial‑level think tank,two provincial-level teaching and research platforms, and one provincial-level distinguished teacher studio.It has a faculty of 112 members, including 12 professors and 35 associate professors.
The School boasts strongstrengthinteaching and research,withdistinctive features in discipline construction and talent cultivation, yielding fruitful outcomes.The discipline of Marxist Theoryhas beenselected for the Distinctive Discipline Development Project of Philosophy and Social Sciences among colleges and universities in Shaanxi Province.The teaching teamfor“Ideological and Moral Cultivation and the Basis of Law”isrecognized asa provincial-level teaching team.More than 40 faculty members have won awardsat theprovincialorministerial-level,such as the National Teaching Exhibition for College Courses on Ideological and Political Theory. More than six hundreds articles were published at important journals, such as People’s Daily, Guangming Daily, and Journal of Ideological & Theoretical Education,etc.In recent years, the school has undertaken nearly 100 projects includingthose funded by NSSF.The school has received 9 provincial and ministerial-level Outstanding Teaching Achievement Awards and 7 Provincial Outstanding Achievement Awards of Humanities and Social Sciences, and published more than 40 monographs and textbooks.
